Artificial Intelligence is a technology that is quickly becoming part of our digital infrastructure and woven into aspects of daily life. AI has the potential to impact society in many positive ways. However, there are numerous examples of AI systems that are operating in ways that are harmful, unjust and discriminatory. How can we build and deploy better AI that's informed by societal values? In this talk we'll cover the essentials of what you need to know about AI ethics. We'll also explore some "data dilemmas" and discuss how data management professionals can help organizations make better choices about the data used in AI/ML projects.
